Firm
Receives Patent NOA for Fractal Antenna and Fractal
Electronics
BOSTON
-- July 16, 2002--Fractal Antenna Systems, Inc. today
disclosed that it has received a Notice of Allowance (NOA)
from the US Patent office for a patent application disclosing
novel inventive art on fractal antenna counterpoises, ground
planes, loading elements and patches. Upon issuance, the
patent will be the sixth in the firm's portfolio, defining and
extending its IP rights on the fractal based antenna and
electronics technology it created.
Fractal antennas and related
applications use self-repeating geometric patterns to produce
structures that provide the `Fractal Advantage'(TM): better
performing antennas and electronics with smaller form factors
and more versatility of use.
The firm, founded in 1995, has
successfully introduced this disruptive antenna technology
into many telecom, wireless, and other markets serving
commercial, industrial, military, and security applications.
Fractal Antenna Systems is one of the few companies
experiencing sharp growth in its sector.
Chief Technology Officer Nathan Cohen
explained the importance of the new NOA as: "Another
clarification for the many researchers, institutions, and
firms who seem to `re-discover' our innovations. We always
welcome scientific corroboration, yet want to reinforce the
responsibility of these groups to attribute and honor the
rights of the inventor and assignee. The facts do not indicate
use of this ethical prerogative in all cases. The new patent
will also allows us to further defend our inventions to assure
that only our customers get the Fractal Advantage(TM)."
The firm has recently extended its
offerings to off the shelf products, made in-house, for
military, security, and commercial applications, as well as
outsourced vending and licensing of other products.
